Removal of discal cyst using percutaneous full endoscopic via interlaminar route: a case report

چکیده
Abstract Background Discal cyst, a rare disease with unclear pathogenesis, exhibits symptoms similar to lumbar disk herniation. Currently, there is no consensus on the optimal treatment for this condition. Case presentation This report presents clinical efficacy of percutaneous endoscopic interlaminar approach surgery technique in patients diagnosed 4–5 discal cyst. The patient exhibited sub-acute radiculopathy left leg accompanied by weakness extensor hallucis longus. Magnetic resonance imaging spine confirmed presence cysts, which exerted compression traversing nerve root. Surgical involved performing without additional discectomy under general anesthesia. were immediately alleviated following removal and toe improved day after surgery. No recurrent or complications observed during 6-month follow-up period. Conclusion Based our findings, we posit that represents safe, minimally invasive, appropriate treating cysts.

Percutaneous Endoscopic Discectomy via Transforaminal Route for Discal Cyst
Background. Discal cyst has been identified as a rare cause of low back pain and radiating leg pain. The pathogenesis and management of this condition are still debated. The largest number of reported cases had undergone microsurgery while very few cases have been treated with percutaneous endoscopic discectomy (PED). Methods. An 18-year-old boy complained of low back pain radiating to right le...
متن کاملClinical Outcomes of Percutaneous Endoscopic Surgery for Lumbar Discal Cyst
OBJECTIVE Discal cyst is rare and causes indistinguishable symptoms from lumbar disc herniation. The clinical manifestations and pathological features of discal cyst have not yet been completely known. Discal cyst has been treated with surgery or with direct intervention such as computed tomography (CT) guided aspiration and steroid injection. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety...
متن کاملDiscal Cyst of the Lumbar Spine: A Case Report
Discal cysts are a rare cause of lumbar radiculopathy. There are only a few reports of this disease in medical literature. The authors describe the case of a 40-year-old man with a lumbar discal cyst that led to radiculopathy. An intraspinal extradural cystic mass was responsible for low and high signal intensities observed in lumbar lesions on T1 and T2 weighted magnetic resonance images. This...
متن کاملThe Early Clinical Outcomes of a Percutaneous Full-Endoscopic Interlaminar Approach via a Surrounding Nerve Root Discectomy Operative Route for the Treatment of Ventral-Type Lumbar Disc Herniation
The objective of this study is to introduce a method using a percutaneous full-endoscopic interlaminar approach via a surrounding nerve root discectomy (SNRD) operative route that involves removing the protrusive disc via both the shoulder and the axilla of the corresponding nerve root for the treatment of ventral-type lumbar disc herniation (VLDH) and its early clinical symptoms. Twenty-two pa...
متن کاملEndoscopic removal of a dermoid cyst via scalp incision.
Nasal dermoid sinus cysts are the most common congenital midline nasal lesions. We describe a novel technique for the excision of a nasal dermoid cyst in a 2-year-old boy using a four hand endoscopic approach via a small scalp incision behind the hairline. The technique, although somewhat challenging, avoids a facial scar.
